Private cards and invite links

Choose who can open a card — anyone, your workspace or only people you invite — and share private cards with links that expire.

Every card has a Who can open this card setting. Open the card from Cards and go to its Share tab.

Personal workspaces have Public and Private. Cards you give to members (from a join link or Give a card) follow the template's setting, and the person holding the card can always open their own.

  1. Make the card private

On the Share tab, choose Private.

  2. Create an invite link

Under Invite links, add a label (who it's for), choose when it expires — 1, 7 or 30 days, or never — and tap Create link.

  3. Copy it now

The link is shown once. Copy it and send it. We only keep a fingerprint of it, so nobody — including us — can show it again.

Someone who opens the link can see the card on that device until the link expires. The list shows when each link was last used and how many times.

Tap Turn off next to the link. It stops working straight away, including on devices that already opened it.

People see a simple page saying the link has expired, was turned off or isn't valid, with a way to sign in if the card is theirs. Nothing about the card is shown.

What changes for private cards

  • The card's QR code, contact file, calendar file and wallet pass follow the same rule — they only work for people who can open the card.
  • Link previews (in chat apps and social media) show a plain "Private card" image instead of the card.
  • Private and workspace-only cards are never listed in search engines or the sitemap.

Still stuck? Ask a person.

Email us and someone from the team replies — usually within one working day.
